As the new school year has already started, Dubai government has taken effective steps to provide the citizens with school buses which will keep their children more safe and secure.
RTA’s Dubai Tax Corporation (DTC) is ready for the ongoing school year, 2016-2017 – it has employed a fleet of smart, sophisticated buses which are equipped with state-of-art technologies.
Dubai Tax Corporation has announced that the new eco-friendly transport consists of surveillance system to monitor children on the bus.
Powerful surveillance system
The surveillance cameras equipped inside the bus monitor movement of students on board, including sitting and alighting from bus. As the buses are equipped with a GPS satellite tracking system, text messages will be sent to inform parents about bus timings – to and from schools and homes.
To ensure that no students are left behind in the bus, the new school bus fleet by DTC is fitted with a switch which is located at the rear of the bus – to disable the switch, the driver has to walk towards the end of bus. This will help him in observing whether all children have exited the school bus or not.
Contract registration for schools
Around 3,000 students from eight schools have already signed up for the scheme.
The online contract registration is still open for schools to avail the service – they can do so by using the smart app (DTC school bus), dialing DTC’s Customer Service Center (042080555) or by visiting customer service staff at schools.
These buses have been selected to conform with the world’s highest school transport service and in implementation of the standards, conditions and guidelines issued by the Public Transport Agency, governing school transport service providers.
